Wolfrham Docks
The Wolfrham Docks is a level I worked on for my Level Design II course. It served as my main project for the class that I worked on from August to December of 2024.
Made With Unreal 5
Concept
The concept for the level was for players to assume the role of the captain of a ship that has been stopped under suspicion of smuggling. I aimed for the docks to have an old Victorian look to them along with a dark and gloomy atmosphere. This is contrasted with the many comical encounters that the player can have while exploring the docks.

Process
As the sole developer of this project, I chose to use Unreal 5 as I wished to further develop my skills with it and generally become more familiar with the engine. I initially made a rough sketch of the level in an overview doc that I used as an outline for the rest of my time working on it. When it came to implementation, I used free asset packs that were available on the Unreal Marketplace to replace the placeholder art and models that I created when boxing out the level.

Iteration
Throughout the semester, I frequently received feedback from both the Professor and my classmates on the progress I was making with developing my level, along with suggestions for changes and improvements. The main that I focused on improving was the lighting and shaders, as I wanted to make sure that the level properly captured the visual dark and gloomy atmosphere I was going for.
